About Us
The area covered by the Association consists of the whole of the Hindley Green ward of the Wigan Metropolitan Borough. However, it does sometimes concern itself with, for example, planning applications just outside this area, if they are likely to affect Association members. The objects of the Association are: to protect and enhance the character and amenity of the districts of Hindley Green, with the aim of improving the quality of life of their residents. To foster a spirit of good fellowship among the residents of Hindley Green in pursuit of service to the community and to inform the members about the activities of the Association.
The Association is non-party-political and non-sectarian.
Meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of each month starting at 7pm in the Family Church at the Bethel Community Centre, Atherton Rd, Hindley Green.
Association meetings are open to all residents of the Hindley Green Ward, while the others are normally for committee members only, though Special General Meetings may be called at other times if necessary.
