Hindley Green Residents Association (HGRA) is a group of ordinary people who care about Hindley Green.
The objectives of HGRA is to safeguard and promote the interests of the residents in the area on matters concerning the environment.
To help improve living conditions, community facilities and services for residents living in the groups area.
In order to do this, HGRA is committed to representing the views of residents in the area of operation and acts as a pressure group to help bring about these goals. HGRA upholds equal opportunities and works towards good relations amongst all members of the community, specifically prohibiting any conduct which discriminates or harrasses on grounds of race, religion, disability, political belief, sex or sex orientation.

Hindley Green is a parish (C.E.) and local council ward (Wigan) It lies to the east of Hindley, Greater Manchester, Lancashire. It follows the main A577 Atherton Road to its boundary with Leigh. The Hindley Green Ward includes the areas of Hindley Green and The Hollins. The ward has an overall population of 10641 spread across 4162 households,
It comprises four churches (St.John the Evangelist CE, Sacred Heart RC & The Family Church at Bethel & Hindley Green Methodist Church), See Churches It has three primary schools, (Hindley Green CP, St John's CE Primary & Sacred Heart RC Primary).

Wigan Council may be forced to close our Library, if this happens, local shops will lose 1200 + visitors each week and will be at risk of closure too....
Help to stop Hindley becoming a ghost town!
Please come along to our next meeting on Sunday 20th March at 2.30pm at The Monaco Ballroom, Hindley.
Or could you spare 20 minutes on Sunday 27th March 2011 at 4.30pm on the Market Square, HIndley to attend a rally in support of saving Hindley Library.
