Green Bin Collection: Green bin collection has resumed from 23rd March 2009. Wigan Metro apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks the residents for their patience.
New Brown Bin: Residents will receive a small leaflet explaining about the distribution of the new brown bins and the details of what it is to be used for.
Should your bin not be emptied then contact Environmental Services on 01942 404364.
Brown bins are emptied every two weeks. If you have been given a large bin and wish to exchange for a smaller bin please ring the above number.

Below is some information you may find useful regarding future road
works:
M56
Junction 9 to Junction 16 Lymm to Ellesmere Port (safety system
installation) - various lane closures in both directions for the
installation of the MIDAS traffic safety system, including insertion of
cables in the carriageway and installation of electronic signs. Work
begins on Monday 19th October and continues until April 2010
M6
Junction 22 to Junction 23 Newton-le-Willows to Haydock (bridge
improvements) – narrow lanes and contraflow in both directions, plus
various off-peak lane closures, with 50mph speed limit enforced by
cameras for repairs and improvements to bridges. Work begins on Monday
28th September and continues until January 2010.
M6 (North Lancashire)
Junction 32 to Junction 33 Broughton to Galgate (painting) – hard
shoulder and lane 1 closed in the daytime, switching to closure of lanes
2 and 3 overnight from 20.00 to 06.00 for painting. Work continues until
mid-October.
M6
Between Junctions 39 and 40 Shap to Penrith (bridge works) – various
lane closures and contraflow in both directions for bridge improvements.
Work continues until mid-March 2010.
M602
Junction 1 to Junction 3 Eccles Interchange to Regent Road - various
lane closures, including some total closures, in both directions. Work
begins on Thursday 1stOctober and continues until the end of March 2010
